This is a "placeholder" website to reserve the url "es2ul" for (ES)²UL, read "E S Squared U L." It is the acronym for Earth Systems & Environmental Science Urban Laboratory now being proposed and developed at Valley Settlement House as a replicable model for urban community service organizations to offer the following programs:

• A Geeks FSO Campus  offering "open court" workshops for mentoring in coding apps and creating content using state of the art Free Space Optics for high speed/high bandwidth communication to increase participation in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) by underrepresented populations in those fields, recognizing that expertise in these areas is in demand and pays well. The Geeks FSO Campus component has been designed to attract the best and the brightest of the target population's high school and college age youth along with mentors and interns from the area's colleges and universities to simulate the accessible and inviting interaction of the neighborhood basketball court. 
• Starting with exploring ways and means of increasing participation in the conversion of garbage to recyclable materials, contribute to the discovery of solutions to those sustainability issues that (a.) need the cooperation of the affected populations to mitigate negative effects, and (b.) are quantifiable in their economic value allowing for a fair return to the participants.
